Typhoon Basyang to leave PAR either tonight or tomorrow morning

THERE is a possibility that Typhoon Basyang will leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by this evening or tomorrow morning.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the typhoon may still increase in strength of up to 150 kph as it makes its way out of the country.

Basyang entered the PAR at around 10 a.m., which was last spotted at around 1,435 kilometers east of southern Luzon.

The typhoon packs strong winds of 120 kph near the center and winds reaching 150 kph.

The state weather agency, however, doesn’t expect Basyang to affect the country since it will not hit landfall anymore.
