TROPICAL Cyclone Wind Signal Number 1 is still up on eight areas in the country due to the onslaught of Typhoon Agaton.
These areas include Eastern Samar, Samar, Northern Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Camotes Islands and Dinagat Islands.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Typhoon Agaton was last seen at around 1 p.m. in Llorente, Eastern Samar, packing winds of 45 kph and gustiness of 75 kph.
The typhoon is expected to move to the direction of east-southeast toward the Philippine Sea later tonight or tomorrow morning.
Because of the effects of Typhoon Basyang, PAGASA said that Typhoon Agaton will weaken and will become a low pressure area.
