“Safer to celebrate Holiday season inside home” – Duque

Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III advised Filipinos to postpone trips to their respective provinces this Holiday season.

According to Duque, the threat of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) remains the same even though restrictions in some parts of the country are gradually easing.

Duque also advised the public to limit their celebrations to “low-risk” activities in preventing families to become infected with the deadly virus.

The official also emphasized, it is much safer and better to celebrate holiday season with families and loved ones in their homes.

Duque also explains that relatives in faraway places and overseas can also join in the celebration, through online platforms.

He also said that it would be better if they only attend virtual mass through online and not to go out to join crowd in churches.

Duque further advises, to avoid places without insufficient ventilation.

“All of this must be high in our consciousness so that we can stay away from danger and be safe in celebrating our Christmas and New Year,” he added.

“Huwag din po tayong pasaway dahil may kasabihan na nasa bandang huli ang pagsisisi” Duque stressed.
