THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) started the deployment of ballots and other election paraphernalia to be used for the local absentee voting during the May 9 national and local elections.
Local absentee voting is slated to star on April 27 up to April 29, 2022.
According to the Committee on Local Absentee Voting of the Comelec, the ballots and equipment will be brought to government agencies and media entities.
Under the local absentee voting system, officials and employees of the government, including uniformed personnel and members of the media, will be allowed to vote even in areas where they are not registered to vote but were temporarily assigned in the area, or will be unable to vote because of the performance of their duties and responsibilities in their place of work on the day of the elections.
Meanwhile, the overseas absentee voting will still continue and will end on May 9, 2022.
