FIVE individuals suspected of involvement in the sale of illegal drugs, including a senior citizen, were arrested after being caught with more than P.1 million worth of suspected shabu in separate buy-bust operations in the cities of Valenzuela and Malabon.
According to P/Lt. Joel Madregalejo, chief of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Valenzuela police, it was around 1 a.m. when SDEU operatives under the leadership of P/Lt. Doddie Aguirre conducted a buy-bust operation along East Service Road, Brgy. Paso De Blas that resulted in the apprehension of Aron Cedrick Gomez, 21 years old, a mechanic, and Javier Villamor, 18 years old.
PCpl. Pamela Joy Catalla said they were able to confiscate from the suspects and estimated 8 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P54,400, marked money, P200 cash, 2 cellphones, a motorcycle and a coin purse.
Meanwhile, around 1:50 a.m., another SDEU team busted Joseph Cortez alias “Boss,” 40 years old, during another buy-bust operation along Sto. Rosario, Brgy., Mapulang Lupa.
PCpl. Christopher Quiao said they were able to confiscate more or less 10 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P68,000, buy-bust money with a genuine P500 bill and five pieces of P500 boodle money.
In Malabon City, SDEU operatives of the Malabon police under P/Col. Albert Bayot, apprehended Rogelio Madeja alyas “Dida,” 61 years old, (Pusher/Listed) and Khaleb Guevara alyas “Khay,” 28 years old, in a buy-bust operation along P. Concepcion St. Brgy. Tugatog.
The police were able to confiscate from the suspects an estimated 2.38 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P16,184 and buy-bust money.
The suspects now face charges of violating RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
