NFA employee group calls for sanctions vs administrator

OFFICERS and members of the National Food Authority Employees Association (NFAEA) called on President Marcos to impose sanctions against NFA Administrator Judy Carol Dansal for usurpation of authority.

This is because Dansal still refused to vacate her post even if her term has already ended together with the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte at noon yesterday, June 30, 2022.

According to the NFAEA, Dansal did not follow the order of former Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary William Dar last May 25, 2022 where DA officials were told to turn over documents and records to the incoming career official so as not to disrupt the operations of the agency.

However, Dansal refused to turn over the work to Deputy Administrator Atty. Raul Canon, Jr.

Dansal supposedly insisted on a holdover capacity at the NFA until such time her replacement is designated.

However, this is against the tenets of Republic Act 10149 or the GOCC Governance Act of 2011.

The group also called on President Marcos to remove Dansal from her post, including other NFA officials due to corruption.

Calls were made for Dansal to air her side on the issue but there’s still no reply at present.
