NCR workers need at least P1,000 a day for daily expenses amid the pandemic, oil price hikes

A LABOR group said that a worker in the National Capital Region (NCR) needs at least P1,000 for his daily needs in this time of a pandemic and the continued rise in the prices of petroleum products.

This was revealed by Associated Labor Unions-Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (ALU-TUCP) spokesman Allan Tanjusay according to a study the group made on the living condition and expenses of minimum wage earners.

However, Tanjusay said that their group is not exactly asking from the National Capital Region-Regional Tripartite Wage Board (NCR-RTPWB) a P1,000 increase in daily wages.

At present, Tanjusay said they are still finalizing their computation and studying other factors in order to come up with an exact amount they will ask in their petition for daily wage increase.

Tanjusay said they will finish preparations for the petition tomorrow morning and will determine the exact wage increase their are asking.

The group will file their petition with the DOLE-NCR tomorrow morning at 10 a.m.

The ALU-TUCP likewise assured that they will file next their wage petition with the regional wage board.
