PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte did not hide his concern on intelligence reports about the supposed connivance between some political organizations and communist groups.
In an interview, Duterte mentioned that the “Dilawans” (Yellow Group) and another group are supposedly in talks with communists to disrupt the upcoming 2022 national and local elections.
He also made the call and stern warning against politicians who plan to use violence just to push forward their political interests.
The president emphasized that he will not allow any form of terrorism to happen during the elections.
He likewise mentioned that he is also a politician but does not favor any group that is why he will not have second thoughts on hunting down or facing those who will display tough-guy acts or act as warlords.
Attempts were made to reach Atty. Barry Gutierrez for any reaction on the president’s accusation but there were no response to text messages or phone calls.
Meanwhile, the president does not seem to believe news items that majority of the ballots to be used for the elections have already been printed with the presence of witnesses.
Duterte said that he trusts the Comelec and said he has not heard of any complaint or information that the Comelec ignored this requirement in the printing of ballots.
