THE Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) released a total of P8.35 million in financial assistance to 1,670 Central Luzon-based workers under its COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program or CAMP.
According to Geraldine Panlilio, Regional Director of DOLE-Region 3, the first batch of beneficiaries received a one-time financial assistance worth P5,000.
DOLE-Region 3, meanwhile, is still reviewing the application of more than 700 establishments for a total of 15,000 employee beneficiaries.
Among the areas that first received the financial assistance were Pampanga with 587, 180 from Zambales, 127 from Tarlac, 57 from Nueva Ecija and eight from Bataan, which was one of the provinces placed under Alert Level 3 last January 2022.
However, most of the provinces in Central Luzon are now under Alert Level 1 except for Nueva Ecija and Zambales.
