THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) assured the riding public that there will be enough vehicles on the road in case there will be frequent transport stoppages by some transport groups.
During the Laging Handa public briefing, MMDA General Manager Frisco San Juan Jr. said they have earlier deployed enough number of vehicles to respond to the transportation needs of stranded passengers today.
He said they are continuously monitoring the situation and they will deploy more vehicles when needed.
San Juan appealed to protesting drivers not to resort to violence in case other drivers in their ranks would wish to ply their route in order to earn.
He likewise thanked the drivers who did not join the transport strike. He said this will be a big help to commuters who do not wish to be inconvenienced or bothered and it is also important for the economy to continue to run smoothly.
If in case the transport strike becomes more regular, San Juan said they are already coordinating with the Department of Transportation and private transport groups for possible support in terms of deployment of more vehicles to other parts of Metro Manila and other areas and provide transport services to the riding public.
