THE Partido Demokratikong Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) formally adopts Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio as the party’s official candidate for vice president.
In a virtual news conference, Department of Energy Secretary and PDP-Laban faction president Alfonso Cusi said the party is already finalizing its alliance with Lakas CMD where Duterte-Carpio is the chairman.
According to Cusi, the national executive committee decided to adopt Mayor Sara because of her credentials, advocacies and vision, which is similar to what the party is advocating.
The party also believes that Mayor Sara will be able to continue the programs of President Rodrigo Duterte, who is also chairman of PDP-Laban.
Cusi added that the party is still studying whom to support as presidential candidate and added that they will come up with the decision before the start of the campaign period in February.
There is no reaction yet from the other PDP-Laban faction headed by senators Manny Pacquiao and Koko Pimentel.
