CITY OF MALOLOS–The provincial government of Bulacan announced that it has lifted the lockdown order on the Tanglaw Pag-asa Youth Rehabilitation Center (TPYRC).

This is because the center is already COVID-19 free, primarily due to the swift action of the Bulacan provincial government and the national government’s zoning containment strategy, which called for the lifting of the lockdown order that took effect for 21 days.

Aside from complying with the zoning containment strategy, Governor Daniel Fernando also immediately tasked the Provincial Engineer’s Office to make rooms inside the TPYRC upon learning of the situation where Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) staff and some of the Children in Conflict with Law (CICL) at the center turned out to be COVID-19 positive.

He also ordered strict health monitoring of the COVID-positive patients and disinfection of the facility to stop the transmission of the virus inside the center.

In addition, the governor made sure that food and medicines were provided for all the individuals who were locked-down in the facility.

A Crisis Management Team was also formed for the systematic and well-managed flow of information.

According to the governor, the quick response of the Provincial Task Force on COVID-19 made the containment of the virus possible.

In total, 83 CICLs, nine PSWDO staff, and 8 prison guards inside TPYRC were infected and are now recovered from the dreaded disease.
