Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente identified the suspect as Omar Bin Harun, 52 years old, who was arrested upon arrival in the Philippines from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Morente said the suspected presented a Malaysian passport with a fake identity.

Based on information acquired by the BI, Omar is a Filipino national who is supposedly a member of the ASG.

Among his involvements were during the 2001 Lamitan Siege, and is also said that Omar has links with the terrorist group known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria or ISIS.

However, according to BI-NAIA Anti-Terrorist Group Chief Bienvenido Castillo III, they received an intelligence report regarding the arrival of Omar in the country, that is why they immediately coordinated with other law enforcement agencies.

After his arrest, Omar was immediately turned over by the BI to the Philippine National Police.
