THE Department of Health (DOH) recorded 1,997 new COVID-19 infections today, slightly higher than yesterday’s 1,894, according to the DOH COVID-19 Case Bulletin issued today, November 13, 2021.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 infections in the country to 2,815,080 cases.
Active cases, on the other hand, went up slightly to 29,382 cases today after registering a 29,105 count yesterday. Active cases or patients are those undergoing treatment in government hospitals and temporary quarantine facilities.
Recoveries from COVID-19 today, meanwhile, went up to 1,696 from yesterday’s 1,421 count. Overall, COVID-19 recoveries in the country have reached a total of 2,740,426 cases.
The DOH also logged 238 COVID-19 fatalities today compared to yesterday’s 170 deaths to bring the total COVID-19 deaths to 45,272.
Positivity rate today, meanwhile, went down to 4.5 percent compared to yesterday’s 5.5 percent based on 45,964 people who were tested.
Around 69.2 percent of the cases were mild and asymptomatic, the DOH bulletin noted.
A total of 32 duplicates were removed from the total case count, of which 29 were recoveries and with one death.
There were also 216 cases tagged earlier as recoveries but were reclassified as deaths upon final validation.
All laboratories were operational on November 11, 2021 and all laboratories were able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).
The agency continues to remind the public to ensure their safety and to strictly observe safety protocols and to have themselves vaccinated as soon as possible. It also reiterates that the safety of the country is everyone’s responsibility, and that by helping each other, the country will overcome this COVID-19 pandemic.
