THE PDP-Laban official presidential bet, Senator Bong Go, went to the office of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Intramuros today to withdraw his vice presidential bid and filed for the presidency instead.

However, Go filed his candidacy for president under a new party called Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan (PDDS), a party organized by Grepor Belgica and the party’s presidential bet, as substitute candidate supposedly to avoid legal complications.

However, there was no official word yet as to Go’s running-mate but with this development, it is expected that President Rodrigo Duterte will give in and file his own COC for vice president.

If this happens, it will be an unprecedented page in Philippine political history where there will be a father-and-daughter fight for the vice presidency.

Earlier, Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa also went to the poll body’s office to withdraw his presidential bid, an action he said was based on “party decision.”

President Duterte joined Go at the Comelec office when the senator filed his Certificate of Candidacy in a dramatic turn of events where unfortunately, the filing became wild and wooly because of violations of health protocols, particularly on physical distancing.
