Company, Employee Partnership to Provide Extended Lifeline to Quake-Hit Families in Mindanao

Families still struggling to recover from the devastating Mindanao earthquake will receive much-needed nutrition, newborn care, and hygiene assistance through a P350,000 relief initiative led by employees of Allianz PNB Life.

The assistance will benefit earthquake-affected communities in Sarangani Province and General Santos City, particularly children below five years old, breastfeeding mothers, newborns, and families facing continuing challenges in rebuilding their lives.

What began as a voluntary fundraising campaign among Allianz employees grew into a larger humanitarian effort after the company matched their contributions, raising a combined P350,000.

The donation will be channeled through the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF) under its Child and Maternal Support Program, which will distribute emergency nutrition assistance, newborn care packages, and hygiene and sanitation kits in coordination with local government units and communities.

For affected families, these essential supplies can help ease everyday struggles, protect the health of vulnerable children, and give mothers greater peace of mind as they work toward recovery.

“Behind every recovery effort are families doing their best to rebuild their lives one day at a time,” said PDRF President Rene “Butch” Meily, emphasizing that the partnership will bring practical assistance and renewed hope to communities still recovering from the disaster.

The initiative also reflects the compassion of Allianz employees who recognized that the needs of disaster survivors continue long after the earthquake disappears from the headlines.

“The earthquake may no longer be in the headlines every day, but we know that many families are still rebuilding their lives. We wanted to do our part, however small, to help them get back on their feet and move forward,” said Ryanne Balintec, IT Portfolio and Business Relationship Manager.

For Pionna Arenas, Service Excellence Lead, the fundraising effort demonstrated how small individual contributions can create a meaningful impact when people unite for a common cause.

Allianz PNB Life Chief Marketing Officer Rozanne Magararu said the initiative reinforces the company commitment to helping communities regain stability and security during difficult times.

“At Allianz, creating security and peace of mind goes beyond the protection we provide through our products. It is also about standing with communities during difficult moments and helping families regain a sense of stability as they recover and rebuild,” she said.

While the road to recovery remains challenging, the initiative offers practical support where it matters most: helping nourish young children, protecting the health of mothers and newborns, and improving hygiene conditions for affected families.

For communities rebuilding after disaster, every act of generosity brings another opportunity to move forward. Through the combined efforts of Allianz employees, the company, and PDRF, more Mindanao families can take another step toward healing, stability, and a brighter future.
