This after an additional 8,122 new COVID-19 cases were recorded today, according to the latest bulletin released by the Department of Health (DOH).
This brings the total COVID-19 cases in the country to 892,880 based on the DOH COVID-19 Case Bulletin 396 released today, April 14, 2021.
On the other hand, a total of 501 new recoveries were posted, to bring the number of recoveries to a 704,386 total.
In terms of deaths, 162 were recorded today, bringing the total COVID-19 deaths to 15,447.
Active cases are at 173,047, mostly are mild cases at 96.3 percent and 2.4 percent are asymptomatic.
Around 25 duplicates were removed from the total case count where 14 were tagged as recoveries and with one death.
Aside from this, 64 cases tagged earlier as recoveries were reclassified as death after final validation.
A total of 12 laboratories were unable to submit data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System o CDRS, which is why a low number of cases were recorded today.
The DOH again explained that the low number of cases today was due to the low testing output of laboratories last Monday, April 12, 2021.
The agency is in constant communication with the laboratories to ensure that their operations will continue and provide a higher testing output daily.
