THE Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has filed multiple complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte and Police Colonel Raymund Dante Lachica of the Vice Presidential Security and Protection Group (VPSPG) at the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office on Wednesday, November 27.
The complaints arise from an incident over the weekend involving Duterte, her security personnel, and her chief-of-staff, Zuleika Lopez.
According to initial reports, Duterte and her security team allegedly arranged a “forced transfer” of Lopez from the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) to St. Luke’s Medical Center using a private ambulance they had hired.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) had previously announced an investigation into the potential criminal liability of Duterte and her staff over the incident, which reportedly escalated into a standoff with law enforcement officers.
Details of the complaints have yet to be disclosed, but the case has drawn significant attention, raising questions about the actions of high-ranking officials and the use of state resources.
Representatives for Duterte and Colonel Lachica have not yet commented on the issue.
The investigation continues as authorities review the circumstances surrounding the alleged transfer.
