Vaccination, other related activities get Comelec exemption

VACCINATION and other activities related to the government’s vaccination campaign were given an exemption by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

In his report to President Rodrigo Duterte during the president’s “Talk to the People” session, testing czar Sec. Vince Dizon said the exemption from the Comelec regarding the government’s vaccination drive means vaccination of Filipinos should not stop.

According to Dizon, even if mayors and governors are busy campaigning, vaccination rollouts should still be intensified in their respective jurisdictions.

Currently, Dizon said majority of primary cities in the country have already fully vaccinated 70 percent of their population, while 70 percent of their senior citizens were likewise vaccinated as well.

However, Dizon said vaccination should still continue, particularly in other cities in Visayas and Mindanao and other pars of Luzon, including the province of Quezon in Region 4-A, Palawan and Mindoro Occidental in Region 4-B, and also Bicol region.
