KINATIGAN ng Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso ang resolusyon na humihimok sa lahat ng pribado at pampublikong istasyon ng telebisyon na magbigay ng hindi bababa sa tatlong oras na airtime nito araw-araw para sa mga programang pang-edukasyon.
Ipinunto sa House Resolution 1263 na adopted o sinang-ayunan ng buong Kamara, ngayong nahaharap ang bansa sa COVID-19 pandemic at ang pag-aaral ay kailangang gawin sa mga bahay, bahagi ng responsibilidad ng mga magulang, school authorities at media companies na tiyaking magtutuluy-tuloy ang edukasyon ng mga bata.
“It is imperative that the private sector works actively with the government to ensure that despite the COVID-19 pandemic and the social distancing requirement… school children shall continue to get the best possible opportunities to learn and become conscientious and productive citizens,” ayon sa Resolusyon.
Ito ay sa pamamagitan ng mga programang madaling ma-a-access o mapapanuod at maririnig ng mga estudyante.
Naniniwala ang mga mambabatas na pupuwede pa ring kumita ang mga TV station sa educational programs tulad ng entertainment shows basta’t malinaw na natutukoy ang target audience nito at may sapat na suporta mula sa sponsors.
“Therefore, be it resolved, as it is hereby resolved, to urge all private and public television stations to allot at least three hours per day to educational programs that foster holistic learning and education to keep the government on track in its commitment to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals,” dagdag pa ng Resolusyon.
