Six Caloocan cops dismissed from service for robbing, beating up sidewalk vendor

THE Philippine National Police-Internal Affairs Service (PNP-IAS) ordered the dismissal from service of six Caloocan cops who were earlier accused of beating up and robbing a sidewalk vendor in Caloocan City last March

According to PNP-IAS Inspector General Atty. Alfegar Triambulo, the IAS already submitted last Tuesday to the Directorate for Personnel Records and Management – Discipline Law and Order Division their recommendation to relieve from service the six policemen who were members of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the Caloocan Police Station.

The six cops are
PCpl. Noel Sison
PCpl. Rommel Toribio
PCpl. Ryan Sammy Mateo
PCpl. Jake Rosima
PCpl. Mark Christian Cabanilla and PCpl. Daryl Sablay

The six cops were all proven guilty of Grave Misconduct and Conduct Unbecoming of a Police Officer.

Triambulo said CCTV footage clearly showed the six policemen beating up and taking the bag of vendor Eddie Yuson that contains P14,000, which was reported to be financial aid from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

The IAS chief added that the six cops failed to explain clearly why they beat up and robbed the vendor as seen on the CCTV footage.

Once their recommendation is approved by the PNP Officer in Charge, the six rogue cops will not be able to receive their benefits and will not be able to work anymore in government.

Among the arguments claimed by the policemen was they just scolded the vendor for being too curious with the cops’ drug operation in the area.
