President-elect Marcos to file SOCE with the Comelec today

THE camp of President-elect Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. will file today with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) his Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE).

According to Atty. George Briones, general counsel of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), the party declared P272 million as total election expenditures of the president-elect’s party during the recent national elections.

This is in compliance with the law and resolution related to the elections and with the June 8, 2022 deadline set by the poll body.

Brioness said the 400-page SOCE of the PFP was prepared and duly signed by PFP National Treasurer Antonio Ernesto Lagdameo, who was recently chosen to become the Special Assistant to the President of President-elect Marcos.

The overall P272 million expenses for the presidential campaign of Marcos was lower compared to the “maximum expenditure” of P337 million that is allowed by law for a national political party, Briones adds.

Marcos was declared as the winning candidate for president in the just-concluded May 9, 2022 national elections after garnering more than 31 million votes.

Marcos  was also the chairman of the PFP, which was his party during the last elections.

He is set to take his oath of office on June 30, 2022 at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Manila.
