AN estimated 7,000 to 8,000 police personnel will be deployed during the inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. in June 30, 2022 to ensure security.
Manila Police District (MPD) chief Police Brigadier General Leo Francisco also said today that additional deployment will be provided by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and the Philippine National Police – National Headquarters.
At the MPD alone, PBGen. Francisco said they they have around 4,400 cops and all will be deployed during the inauguration.
That is why the NCRPO and the PNP National Headquarters will send an additional deployment for the 7,000 or 8,000 cops that can be deployed on the said date.
Francisco added that as of now, they have not monitored any possible threat related to the oath-taking Marcos Jr., which is slated to be held at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Manila.
The MPD chief added that P. Burgos Street and Kalaw Avenue from Taft Avenue up to Roxas Boulevard will be closed to traffic for the inauguration, and a rerouting scheme will be implemented for affected motorists.
Militant groups who may wish to stage protest programs or rallies, he said, may use the freedom parks located in the city.
