THE Philippine National Police (PNP) said it is ready to abide by any decision of President Rodrigo Duterte with regard to the operations of online cockfights or “e-sabong” in the country.

In an interview at Camp Crame, PNP Chief Police General Dionardo Carlos said they will follow the President’s decision and they will just continue with their job.

However, PGen. Carlos said that they will also look at the social costs of e-sabong and its ill effects on those who are already addicted to it.

Meanwhile, even if the search for the missing more than 30 cockfight enthusiasts (“sabungeros”) is somewhat at a standstill, PGen. Carlos is still hoping that they are still alive.

He said the PNP’s investigation is ongoing and they are doing everything they can to find the missing “sabungeros” so that they can go back to their families.
