Pag-iimprenta ng mahigit 1-milyong official ballots kada araw, target ng Comelec

TARGET ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) at National Printing Office (NPO) na umabot ng mahigit sa isang milyong opisyal na mga balota para sa national at local elections sa Mayo 9 ang ma-imprenta kada araw.

Sinabi ni Director James Jimenez, ang tagapagsalita ng Comelec, na sa ngayon ay maayos ang itinatakbo ng pagpapa-imprenta ng mga balota at nasa mahigit 17 milyon na ang natatapos, mahigit dalawang buwan bago ang eleksyon.

“We are on track with the printing of ballots, in fact, we are past the 17 million ballots we have printed, and it is still a bit early to calculate. Our printing is doing well, we are about to reach the peak of the printing capacity. When we reach that point, the printing capacity may exceed 1 million a day,” pahayag ni Jimenez.

Kabuuang 65,721,230 million ballots ang kailangang maimprenta para sa eleksyon sa Mayo.

Kaugnay nito, sinabi ni Jimenez na naihatid na rin sa iba’t-ibang lugar sa bansa ang mga election materials at supplies upang maagang maihanda ito.

Mayruon na rin aniyang ginagawang demonstration activity o road show demo ng vote-counting machines (VCMs) sa iba’t-ibang lokalidad bilang bahagi ng kanilang voter’s information campaign.

“Our vote-counting machine road show demo is also starting. This means that across the country, our officers bring VCMs to various communities so that the public can see what the machine looks like, how it works, and how they will use it on election day. So that’s going on and we expect more roadshow demos,” ayon pa kay Jimenez.

Aabot sa 97,000 na VCM ang gagamitin sa darating na halalan.
