P150-million worth of shabu seized in Cebu

A staggering P150-million worth of suspected high grade shabu was confiscated by elements of the National Capital Region Police Office-Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG) and Quezon City Police from a male suspect in a drug bust operations conducted in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

Based on a report submitted to NCRPO chief, Police Major General Debold Sinas, the oplan “Coplan Totong Toldo” was activated a week ago after the informant told authorities the frequent travel of a certain Gilbert Lumanog, and transporting massive loads of illegal drugs in Cebu City brought from Quezon City.

Police immediately went to Cebu City on October 12 where they coordinated with the local police while conducting case build-up, surveillance, and monitoring and information gathering about the suspicious activities of Lumanog.

Several days of surveillance work according to the police, has managed to track down Lumanog in his Toyota Vios and was seen many instances delivering big packages to unidentified individuals.

That’s when the authorities conducted the drug bust operation and successfully apprehended the suspect and the confiscation of 22.1 kilos of shabu inside the compartment’s car.

The exact amount of the seized illegal drugs is worth P150,280,000.

 Lumanog is facing charges in violating Sections 5, 11 of Republic Act 9165 Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
