Number of MPHS violators rose last week — DILG

THE number of violators of minimum public health standards (MPHS) rose further during the past week, which left the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) bothered,

In the Talk to the People of President Rodrigo Duterte, DILG chief Eduardo Año said that from April 15 up to 24, 2022, the number of people who violated on the wearing of face masks rose to 196 percent or 84,969 from the previous 20,266 the past week.

Those who violated by joining mass gatherings rose by 5,469 percent or 724 from the previous 13.

For those who did not practice physical distancing, this increased by 201 percent or 9,057 from only 2,850.

Thus, Año said they will again be strict and called on local governments, barangay officials, management of commercial establishments, community leaders, and campaign organizers to help authorities in the enforcement of minimum public health standards.

According to Año, it is important to curb this trend of violations to avoid another surge in the number of COVID-19 case in the following days.
