NATIONAL Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) Secretary Guiling Mamondiong was charged before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for violation of the election ban.

in an announcement by the Comelec Law Department, it confirmed that aside from Mamondiong, also charged was his Chief of Staff, Atty. Manggay Guro Jr., and NCMF Executive Director Tahir Lidasan, Jr.

The complaint stemmed from incidents where Mamondiong issued orders in violation of Sec. 261(g) of the Omnibus Election Code.

Based on the complaint filed by NCMF Director Saleha Sacar, Mamondiong formed the positions of Assistant Bureau Director, Assistant Regional Director, and Assistant Service Directors, and assigned personnel in these positions without securing the necessary Comelec exemptions.

There is also the issue of premature termination of contracts of those with job order (JO) employments, even if they have fixed term arrangements until December 30, 2022; and designated new JO employees.

Aside from this, the NCMF secretary changed the incumbent heads of the agency’s offices.

The Comelec Law Department is already conducting an investigation of all these allegations of violations committed by the NCMF.

The Comelec, on the other hand, appealed to all government officials and agencies to follow all guidelines regarding the elections, while warning that violators will face charges and will be made answerable to the law.
