Taal Volcano experienced a minor phreatomagmatic eruption from its main crater at 7:34 PM on January 6, 2025.
The event, captured by the IP camera of the Lower Calauit Observation Station (VTLC), produced a plume rising approximately 600 meters above the crater.

The eruption was accompanied by a volcanic tremor lasting three minutes, indicating ongoing activity beneath the volcano. Despite this, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) has maintained Alert Level 1 for Taal Volcano.
This signifies low-level unrest but highlights the need for vigilance in surrounding areas.
PHIVOLCS advises the public to refrain from entering the Taal Volcano Island Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) due to the possibility of sudden steam-driven explosions and other hazards.
Residents near the area are reminded to remain alert and follow updates from authorities.
