NAKITAAN ng malaking turnout ang unang araw ng voter registration sa National Capital Region (NCR) habang nasa ilalim pa ito ng modified enhanced community quarantine o MECQ.
Bagama’t may mahabang pila sa labas ng Comelec offices, naging maayos at sumunod naman sa minimum public health standards ang mga magpapa-rehistro para makaboto ayon kay Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez.
Sinabi ni Jimenez na maraming Comelec offices din ang hindi nag-anunsyo ng cut off at marami rin ang nagsabing 300 lamang ang tatanggapin.
“Long queues formed outside many offices. In general these queues remained orderly and compliant with minimum health protocols. Many Comelec offices did not announce cut-offs, and many announced that they could only accommodate 300 applicants,” ayon kay Jimenez.
“Despite the strong turn out of applicants, however, there is still no indication of a possible reversal of the decision not to grant an extension.” dagdag pa ni Jimenez sa kanyang assessment sa unang araw ng muling pagbubukas ng voter registration sa NCR at iba pang bahagi ng bansa na nasa MECQ.
