FOUR people were reported dead while four others were believed to be injured after an alleged firefight between supporters of two candidates for mayor in Barangay Labut, Magsingal, Ilocos Sur.
Based on initial information from Police Executive Master Sergeant Archie Anipot, duty investigator of Magsingal town police station, the incident happened at around 7 am today, Saturday, May 7, 2022.
The individuals involved in the firefight were reportedly supporters of Lorry Salvador Jr. and Alrico Favis, both running for town mayor in the coming elections.
Among the ones injured were Albert “Abet” Banez a.k.a. Tyson, 39 years old, from San Ramon, Magsingal; and Romnick Villanueva, 25 years old, of Patong, Magsingal, including Teofilo Urno Taasin, 39 years old from Maratudo, Magsingal, and Kenneth Salvador Seatriz, 40 years old.
The police did not divulge the names of those who died while their relatives are being informed of the incident.
Authorities are still conducting an investigation on the incident.
