THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) said the resumption of voter’s registration that started today, July 4, 2022, was generally peaceful and orderly.
There was also a relatively high turnout of applicants across in the board in all regions, based on initial assessment reports coming from the Comelec’s Field Offices, according to an advisory from the poll body.
Initial reports from the National Capital Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Regions 2, 3, 4A, 5, 6, 12 and BARMM showed orderly queues in City and Municipal Election Officers’ Offices. The most applicants were recorded among the new members of the Katipunan ng Kabataan Sangguniang Kabataan, aged 15 to 17 years old.
The Comelec, as per its Resolution No. 10798, field offices will submit daily reports not later than 7 p.m. and it expects all regions to submit their reports to the Comelec’s Election and Barangay Affairs Department.
Voter’s registration will continue until July 23, 2022, and will be held Mondays to Saturdays including holidays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in city and municipal offices of the Comelec.
