Estrella-Pantaleon bridge opened to the public

THE Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge, also known as Rockwell Bridge, was formally opened to the public recently.

The inauguration of the newly constructed bridge was led by none other than President Rodrigo Duterte, who was joined by other government officials, including Mandaluyong Mayor Menchie Abalos.

The four-lane bridge crosses the Pasig River, and connects Estrella Street in Makati City to Pantaleon Street in Mandaluyong City. It serves as alternative route that connects the Makati CBD to Mandaluyong City.

It is one of three bridges that connects the two cities, the other two being the Makati-Mandaluyong Bridge and the Guadalupe Bridge along EDSA.

Mayor Abalos said the opening of the four-lane, 506.46-meter bridge will benefit Mandaleños working in Makati and Makatizens whose workplace is located in Mandaluyong. 

The opening was also attended by Metro Manila Development Authority Chairman Benhur Abalos, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, the Ambassador of China to the Philippines Huang Xilian, Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar, Department of Transportation Secretary Art Tugade, and Senator Bong Go.
