It will be another week of Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) for the National Capital Region (NCR) Plus bubble area, starting April 5 to 11, 2021.
This was announced by presidential spokesperson Harry Roque on Saturday evening.
With the continued surge (or spike) of new COVID-19 cases, the past few days marked by successive 9,000-plus numbers, yesterday by another record-high of 15,310 and today at 12,576, the government again imposed the hard lockdown, as suggested by the experts from the OCTA Research Team and the Department of Health (DOH), and concurred by most of the mayors of NCR Plus area, composed of Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal.
“Karagdagang linggo, one more week at least,” explains Roque.
“Nanawagan din po tayo sa mga lokal na pamahalaan sa lugar na ito na paigtingin ang kanilang reinforcement doon sa ginagawa nating quarantine measures,” he said.
The Prevent, Detect, Isolate, Treat and Reintegrate (PDITR) Strategy, according to Roque, will also intensified, he said.
“The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has been directed to ensure the concerned local government units shall provide these data while the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) have been directed to provide the data in the workplaces and establishments. The Task Group on Management of Returning Overseas Filipinos (TG MROF) shall provide the data on returning overseas Filipinos,” Roque added.
Roque likewise hinted of a possible downgrade in the quarantine restriction once the results of the second extension of the ECQ have been assessed.
