A NEWLY built multi-faucet hygiene facility located at General Delos Reyes Street corner Col. Serrano Street, Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City was inaugurated today, October 11, 2021.
No less than Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Police General Guillermo Eleazar, led the inauguration of the multi-faucet hygiene facility, which is in line with the “Sabi ni ‘Nay Maghugas ng Kamay, Lingap Kapulisan Program” of the PNP.
The project was initiated by the PNP-Officers’ Ladies Club (PNP-OLC) led by their adviser, Rosalie “Lally” Hernandez Eleazar, wife of PNP Chief General Eleazar, in partnership with the Manila Water Foundation, Incorporated (MWFI) and the Soroptimist International Kaagapay.
During a more than three-month period, a total of 17 hygiene facilities were successfully inaugurated in 17 police regional offices nationwide with the primary objective of preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus and other infectious disease especially in the performance of their sworn duty at their respective workplaces.
According to Mrs. Eleazar, the hygiene facilities installed in 18 PNP camps all over the country is the PNP-OLC’s shared responsibility in the pursuit of a clean, safe and healthy environment for everyone, not only during this time of pandemic but should be a good practice every day.
“Today, we feel delighted to celebrate and share with you this momentous event of our journey in this program as we officially hand over the 18th and last hygiene facility to mark the completion of our project,” Mrs. Eleazar said.
PGen Eleazar, on the other hand, said PNP personnel especially the frontliners will continue to endure the risk of their arduous task to ensure the safety and security of the public amid the danger of contracting the virus brought by this pandemic.
“This facility is a big help not only to our police personnel but also for our kababayan who continue to flock to our office to ensure their safety and protection against the COVID-19 virus and to help curb its spread,” PGen. Eleazar said in his message.
Alongside the inauguration of the facility is the turnover of hygiene supplies donated by Procter and Gamble Philippines and behavioral change nudge from the Department of Health.
