THE Department of Health (DOH) today logged 6,812 new COVID-19 cases, up from yesterday’s 6,043 total, according to the latest DOH COVID-19 Case Bulletin issued today, June 25, 2021.
At present, the total number of COVID-19 infections in the country has already reached 1,385,053, with 55,293 listed as active cases or patients who are currently being treated in government hospitals and temporary quarantine facilities.
A total of 116 cases were added to the list of COVID-19 deaths today, which is slightly higher than the 108 cases recorded yesterday. This brings to 24,152 the total number of COVID-19 fatalities.
There were also 61 cases previously reported as recoveries were reclassified as deaths upon final validation.
Also, 19 duplicates were removed from the total case count, of which 12 were recoveries.
There were only 2,867 new recoveries from the disease today, which is almost half of the 4,486 recoveries posted yesterday. Currently, there are now 1,305,608 individuals listed as total recoveries.
Meanwhile, positivity rate is at 11.6 percent from 51,005 people who were tested.
Majority, or 95.4 percent of the cases, are mild and asymptomatic.
All laboratories were operational on June 23, 2021 and all laboratories were able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).
The DOH continues to remind the public that the safety of the country is everyone’s responsibility, and that by helping each other, the country will overcome this COVID-19 pandemic.
