THE Department of Health (DOH) recorded a total of 2,386 new COVID-19 cases in the country for a daily average of 341 new cases from the period April 10 up to April 16, 2023.
The daily average is 23 percent higher compared to the daily average from April 3-9, 2023, 17 of which are severe and critical cases.
Meanwhile, the DOH recorded 20 fatalities wherein zero deaths happened from April 3 to 16, 2023.
Around 356 cases were reported in severe and critical condition on April 16, 2023 and admitted in COVID-19 hospitals. Of the 1,900 ICU beds allotted for COVID-19 patients, 234 or 12.3 percent are occupied. On the other hand, only 2,929 (17.4 percent) of the 16,791 non-ICU COVID-19 beds are currently being utilized.
More than 78 million individuals or 100.44 percent of the target population are already vaccinated against COVID-19, while 23 million people already received their booster shots.
Also, 7.1 million senior citizens or 82.16 percent of the target A2 population were already vaccinated with their primary series.
