DOH asks drug manufacturers not to raise prices of medicines yet

AMID the continuing increase in prices of essential goods, particularly petroleum products, the Department of Health (DOH) urged drug manufacturers not to raise prices of medicines for the meantime.

The DOH is hoping that drug makers will not put in effect a drug price increase at the moment, although the agency admitted it has no control over the prices of medicines in the country.

DOH Secretary Francicso Duque III emphasized that the Philippines is not importing any type of medicine from either Russia or Ukraine.

For now, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said it has not monitored any price movement of primary goods in the country, including that of medicines.
