A police executive master sergeant was killed and dismembered by a fellow officer after being caught in an intimate situation with the latter’s wife at Camp Bagong Diwa in Lower Bicutan, Taguig City.
The crime, which took place on November 28, was revealed by Police Major Hazel Asilo, public information officer of the Southern Police District. The suspect, a police lieutenant colonel, admitted to the killing and led investigators to the victim’s dismembered body, which was discovered buried in the suspect’s ancestral home in Baguio City on December 5.
Details of the Crime
According to Asilo, the suspect claimed he caught the victim and his wife, also a police executive master sergeant, in a compromising situation. “Based on his statement, he caught them in a very intimate situation and then shot the victim,” she said.
After the fatal shooting, the suspect used a hacksaw to dismember the victim’s body and transported it to Baguio City in a pickup truck, which has since been taken into police custody. The suspect later revealed the location of the burial site.
Investigation and Arrest
The victim had been reported missing prior to the discovery of his remains. The victim’s child raised concerns about his disappearance and traced his last known location to Camp Bagong Diwa, leading investigators to uncover the crime.
Both the suspect and his wife are now in police custody. The wife is being investigated as a co-conspirator since the crime occurred in her presence. Authorities are preparing to file charges of murder and conspiracy against the couple.
Ongoing Investigation
The police are still searching for the hacksaw used in the crime and awaiting a forensic report to determine the exact circumstances of the killing, including the number of gunshot wounds.
Crime of Passion Angle
The incident is being treated as a crime of passion, driven by jealousy and rage. “This is a tragic case involving personal relationships and we are thoroughly investigating all angles” Asilo stated.
