As per the DOH COVID-19 Case Bulletin #424 issued May 12, 2021, this brings the overall COVID-19 case count in the country to a 1,118,359 total number of infections.

Active cases for today is 53,214 or 4.8 percent of the total tally. There were also 8,312 people who recovered from the disease to bring the total to 1,046,431 recoveries.

A total of 94 people died today to bring the tally to 18,714 COVID-19 deaths.

The low number registered today is due to the low testing output by laboratories last Monday, 10 May 2021.

There were also 30 duplicates that were removed from the total case count wherein 21 people were tagged as recoveries from the disease.

Meanwhile, around 35 cases tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths upon final validation.

All laboratories were operational last May 10 while five laboratories filed to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).
