THE Philippine General Hospital (PGH) recorded its lowest number of confirmed COVID-19 patients at 54 after almost one year.
According to Dr. Jonas del Rosario, PGH spokesperson, only 15 percent of the 350 hospital beds for COVID-19 cases at the PGH are now occupied.
Del Rosario added that majority of the patients with COVID-19 are moderate cases, with less than 10 patients occupying the intensive care unit (ICU).
Aside from this, he said that for the past two years, there were no patients with COVID-19 admitted at the PGH.
Del Rosario is positive that in the next days or weeks, the number of COVID-19 patients being cared for at the PGH will go down further to about 20 patients.
He believes that the high vaccination rate in the National Capital Region (NCR) is the reason for the continued decline in the number of COVID-19 cases.
