WBC, WBA and current pound-for-pound world super middleweight king Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez said that if he gets to engage in a third fight with IBF world middleweight ruler Gennady “GGG” Golovkin, he promised it will be a different ending.

The Guadalajara, Mexico native said there is nothing left more to prove in fighting Golovkin since he has already beaten him twice. However, he remained open for a possible third meeting.

The 30-year-old Alvarez (W54-L1-D2) recorded a unanimous decision victory over the previously undefeated Callum Smith last December.

While the first fight in 2017 ended in a controversial split draw, and the second fight was ruled a majority decision win, the Mexican banger promised that a third fight, if and when it happens, will have a more decisive and convincing result.

But fighting now at 168 pounds, Alvarez said it is Golovkin who should move up in weight to be able to meet him. “We’ll see what happens, if that’s what the fans really want. I’m at 168 and our goal is to unify here.”

Alvarez, who is at the prime of his boxing career while the Kazakh-born Golovkin (W41-L1-D1) is already at 38 years old, knows that he’s got the right tools and is even more capable now of beating Golovkin in a more convincing fashion and once and for all determine who’s the true champion.
