Calabarzon region under “Ulysses” wrath

Typhoon Ulysses (international named: Vamcon) is currently hammering Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) region with a sustained force of 140 kph near the center and gusts of up to 195 kph.

More likely, classes in all level as well as government offices in the whole region were suspended as early as 12 p.m. today, Wednesday.

The region included under the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal (TCWS) Number 3 and the northern and central parts of Quezon (General Nakar, Infanta, Real, Mauban, Sampaloc, Lucban, Tayabas City, Sariaya, Candelaria, Dolores, Tiaong, San Antonio, Lucena City, Pagbilao, Atimonan, Padre Burgos, Unisan, Agdangan, Gumaca, Plaridel, Pitogo, Macalelon, Lopez, General Luna, Catanauan, Buenavista, Guinayangan, Tagkawayan, Calauag, Quezon, Alabat, Perez) with islands of Polillo.

While TCWS Number 2 was hoisted over to the rest of Quezon.

Meanwhile, pre-emptive evacuation has been carried out in the province of Laguna, especially in some areas in the cities of San Pedro, Biñan, Sta. Rosa and Calamba.

Even in the towns of Sta. Cruz and Mabitac, some residents have been evacuated to ensure the safety of the people who resides from dangerous areas where floodwaters and landslides usually occur.
