The Bulacan provincial government announced yesterday that the number of COVID-19 cases in the province went down further by 43 percent.
The result was based on the Mobility Week 19 to 20 from May 8 to 22, to Mobility Week 21 to 22 from May 23 to June 5.
According to the report of Dr. Hjordis Marushka Celis, PTF Response Cluster Head, only four percent or 1,510 of the 37,997 total confirmed cases are active, while 94 percent or 35,666 recovered and two percent or 821 died from the disease.
Last week, the province has administered a total of 208,195 doses of coronavirus vaccines, 161,607 for the 1st dose and 46,588 for the 2nd dose.
As of June 17, 2021, the Provincial Health Office report on COVID-19 cases in Bulacan showed that the total confirmed cases reached 38,166 with 35,765 recoveries; 1,576 active cases and 825 casualties.
Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando thanked the health workers and frontliners of the province for their untiring service to the Bulakenyos.
“Napanatili po natin ang pagbaba ng bilang ng mga kaso. I would like to congratulate and thanked our doctors and nurses, our medical frontliners and mga cluster head ng PTF at ang ating kapulisan. Lahat kayo ay nagsumikap dito. Kitang kita naman natin sa ating mga datos,” the governor said during the Provincial Task Force’s Zoom meeting held last Thursday.
Fernando also expressed his gladness over the placing of Bulacan, together with Metro Manila, on General Community Quarantine (GCQ) “with some restrictions,” which comes with more relaxed protocols compared to GCQ “with heightened restrictions.”
“Pababa ang kaso at napakaganda ng ating nagiging laban kung babatayan ang datos sa ibang lalawigan sa paligid ng NCR. Nananatiling pinakamababa ang ating active cases mula simula until today. Nawa ay magpatuloy ang datos na ito dahil hindi na natin kakayanin na bumalik pa sa mas mahigpit na quarantine status,” he added.
The governor also appealed to the local government units to allot more vaccination sites, apply systematic master listing, and assign more vaccinators to further improve the vaccination rollout in the province to achieve herd immunity before Christmas.
