THE number of tourist arrivals in Boracay reached over 201,368 in May, according to the local government unit’s tourism office.
According to the Malay Municipal Tourism Office, the number is higher by 14,617 compared to the 186,751 tourist arrivals in April.
Majority of Boracay visitors last May were domestic tourists at 193,298, followed by foreign ones with 4,268 and overseas Filipinos at 3,802.
The local government expects this number of Boracay tourists to increase even further once the Kalibo International Airport is given the go signal to operate on a 24/7 basis.
