BINANGONAN, Rizal – The municipal government of Binangonan announced that it launched a multi-faceted online service system, a re-invention of the digital services the town introduced back in March 2020, in cooperation with local experts and town-based volunteer groups,

According to the Binangonan municipal administrator Russel Callanta Ynares, among the digital services that the LGU is offering include the Binangonan E-Payment and Assessment System (BePA) so local folks no longer have to bear the agony and fear of stepping out of their comfort zones to queue for their turn in making physical payment of Real Property Taxes. The system, Ynares added, is linked up with the Land Bank of the Philippines.

Local folks are also spared from the tedious task of going to the market to buy food and other household essential needs via their Binangonan E-Palengke. Ynares said that residents could send messages containing the list of what they need to their E-Palengke Facebook page and they will do the buying and delivery right at their doorsteps. This particular service is in partnership with the Binangonan Action Center Volunteer Group.

Ynares also took pride in their E-Botika, which offers free medicines delivered to senior citizens and persons with physical impairment. This service also uses Facebook as communication, Ynares added.

Other services developed by the LGU include cashless fund transfer of scholarship subsidy, digital suggestion boxes, online query and complaint desk, among others.

Ynares said these services was developed as part of implementing measures seen to keep their local folks away from possible infection of the deadly virus from Wuhan, China.

The LGU also took their cue in coming up with these services from the scientific observations on how local transmission of contagious ailments could actually spark a sharp spike of infections. The lakeshore local government put in place this system that does not necessarily translate to zero movement – but is seen to significantly reduce such.

“Inasmuch as we wanted to bond with our local folks the way we did before the pandemic, we find it logical to ensure first their safety,” Ynares quipped.

To date, Binangonan has remained under general community quarantine with heightened restrictions along with 13 other localities in Rizal Province.
