THE Department of Health (DOH) recorded a total of 1,295 new COVID-19 cases in the country for a daily average of 185 cases from May 30 up to June 5, 2022
The daily average of 185 is lower by 1.4 percent compared to the number of cases posted from May 23-29, 2022.
Of the new cases, 16 were severe and critical, with one fatality but this did not happen from May 9 to 22, 2022.
On June 5, 2022, 599 severe and critical patients were admitted in hospitals due to COVID-19. Of the 2,632 ICU beds allotted for COVID-19 patients, 386 or about 14.7 percent were occupied. Meanwhile, only 18.1 percent of the 22,245 non-ICU COVID-19 beds are currently being utilized.
More than 69 million individuals or 77.20 percent of the target population are already vaccinated against COVID-19, while 14.3 million people have been administered with booster shots.
On the other hand, 6.7 million senior citizens or 77.33 percent of the target A2 population are already fully vaccinated.
