Digital Bank Wants Filipinos Abroad to Come Home This Christmas

This Christmas season, GoTyme Bank is turning the simple act of sending and receiving money across borders into an opportunity for something more personal: coming home.

For Filipinos living and working overseas, Christmas can be both a celebration and a reminder of how far away home can be.

There are the familiar traditions—Noche Buena, family reunions, Simbang Gabi, exchanging gifts and staying up late to catch up with relatives. But for those spending the holidays thousands of miles from the Philippines, a video call can never quite replace being at the same dinner table.

The digital bank has launched its “It’s Tyme to Be Together” campaign, a holiday initiative that gives customers a chance to win round-trip flights and cash prizes through qualifying international remittances.

In partnership with Cebu Pacific and global remittance provider TapTap Send, the campaign is built around a familiar Filipino experience. Overseas workers send money home to support their families, while loved ones in the Philippines receive those funds for everything from everyday expenses to holiday preparations.

But this time, the journey doesn’t have to end with a remittance.

For many Filipino families, remittances are an everyday expression of care. They help pay bills, put food on the table, support children’s education and make family celebrations possible, even when the person sending the money cannot be there to share them.

The GoTyme Bank campaign adds another possibility: using the opportunity to bring families physically closer during one of the year’s most meaningful seasons.

Five grand prize winners will receive round-trip economy flights for themselves and a companion, along with additional prizes intended to make their return home even more memorable.

GoTyme Bank president and CEO Nate Clarke said the campaign reflects the idea that banking should ultimately help people stay connected to what matters most.

For Filipinos abroad, that connection can be especially powerful during Christmas, when the desire to return home often becomes stronger.

Cebu Pacific, the campaign’s official airline partner, is also part of that homecoming story. The airline serves destinations across key overseas markets where many Filipinos live and work, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

For families, the prize isn’t simply a plane ticket. It can mean a parent finally sitting beside their children at Noche Buena, siblings spending the holidays together or an overseas Filipino worker getting the chance to celebrate with loved ones after months or years apart.

The campaign also highlights GoTyme Bank’s international remittance services, which allow customers to send and receive money through the bank’s app.

For customers sending money abroad, the app displays important details before a transaction is completed, including fees, exchange rates, estimated arrival times and the amount the recipient is expected to receive. The service allows transfers to more than 200 countries and territories in eight currencies.

Receiving money can also be handled digitally. Funds can be sent to a GoTyme Bank account through international banks using SWIFT, supported remittance partners such as TapTap Send, or participating Visa partners.

Once the money arrives, recipients don’t have to make a trip to a branch or wait to collect cash. They can save the funds, pay bills, spend them or transfer them directly from their account.

That convenience can matter even more during the holiday rush, when families are already juggling gift shopping, travel plans, reunions and other Christmas expenses.

The “It’s Tyme to Be Together” raffle runs from September 16 to November 30, 2026. Customers who opt in receive one raffle entry for every qualifying international remittance of at least P5,000 sent or received directly through the GoTyme Bank app.

While winning a flight is never guaranteed, the campaign taps into something deeply familiar to Filipinos overseas: the longing to be home when Christmas arrives.

After all, the most memorable part of the holidays isn’t always what gets wrapped and placed beneath the Christmas tree. Sometimes, it’s the person who walks through the front door.

And for families separated by oceans, that may be the gift that matters most.
