McDonald’s Philippines draws thousands to first nationwide McDo FryFest

Thousands of Filipino customers gathered across the country on September 4 as McDonald’s Philippines staged its first McDo FryFest, a nationwide event featuring unlimited servings of its World Famous Fries, games and other activities.

Held simultaneously in more than 50 McDonald’s branches, the event marked the culmination of a nearly two-month campaign centered on one of the fast-food chain’s most popular menu items.

The celebration began on July 10 in observance of National Fries Day, when McDonald’s offered its BFF Fries for P99 for one day. The company subsequently designated Fridays as “FryDays,” offering weekly deals and promotions leading up to the September event.

McDo FryFest also introduced what the company described as its first unlimited Fries experience, with ticketed participants receiving continuous servings during the event. Guests also took part in interactive games and received a limited-edition Fries pouch with a wrist strap as a commemorative item.

“We are thankful to everyone who celebrated our World Famous Fries during National Fries Day and every Fry Day that followed,” McDonald’s Philippines Chief Marketing Officer Ada Almendras-Lazaro said.

“Fry Fest is our way of bringing together the community of Pinoy Fries fans who have continuously shown their love for our World Famous Fries. We wanted to create a fun and memorable experience that celebrates not only the product, but the people who have made it a favorite through the years,” she added.

McDonald’s World Famous Fries are made from whole potatoes that are straight-cut, deep-fried and salted. The company said the product’s enduring popularity among Filipino consumers goes beyond its taste and has been reinforced by its association with everyday experiences and shared occasions.

“The emotional connection of our Fries to generations of Pinoys is built not just with how good it is but how it has been part of moments and memories that fans and customers cherish,” Almendras-Lazaro said.

Following the conclusion of McDo FryFest, the World Famous Fries remain available at McDonald’s branches nationwide through dine-in, takeout, drive-thru, McDelivery and third-party delivery platforms.
