PCG, ready to lend a hand in search for the remains of missing “sabungeros”

THE Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said it is ready to support the government’s efforts in seeking justice for the bereaved families of the “missing sabungeros.”

PCG Commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan said this in line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

He said he has already directed the Coast Guard Special Operations Force (CGSOF) to coordinate with the Department of Justice (DOJ), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and the Philippine Navy (PN) for the immediate and strategic deployment of technical divers in the said vicinity waters.

If the DOJ needs the expertise of our men and women to confirm or reject this piece of information as part of the case build-up, we will be there,” Admiral Gavan expressed.

This is in response to the statement of Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla on the tapping of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) technical divers to look for the remains of the missing “sabungeros” at Taal Lake in Batangas.
